Button Whore: 80 x 15 Insanity

If you'll notice on the side bar to the right, there are a plethora of new 80 x 15 buttons! I saw these on Samantha Stark's blog (they're at the bottom).

I saw them and liked them, so I started collecting them. Before I knew it, I had signed up for three or four blog traffic accounts. These are services that supposedly get more traffic to your blog. The kicker is that you have to surf other people's blogs in order to get the service to send people to your blog. The system of "indentured surfing" works on credits. For every two blogs you visit, you'll receive one credit. These credits are used up when people visit your blog. So if I visit ten blogs, I'll get five credits and when someone visits my blog, that total will be decreased by one.

Obviously, I'm not going to start surfing other blogs like crazy to get people to visit my blog. I'll just fade into obscurity with these lovely buttons all to myself.

I realize I could just copy the graphics and add them to my blog without signing up for these "services" but that just didn't seem right to me.

So now, in addition to being part of some blog listing services and whatever else they make these buttons for, I'm also a blog surfing whore.
