At 6:41pm tomorrow, I'll be on my way to the other side of the country.
It's weird how a lot of my friends have relocated to the western side of the continent, and now I'm going there too! The only difference is I won't be staying for good. I'll be coming back home at the end of December to actually get down to business and plan my wedding.
Hopefully I'll get to visit some of you, especially the ones in Washington state, since it's so dang close.
How do you pack for a three month stay? It's hard to decide what I'll need, you know? Clothes, definitely...food, not so much...books?...electronics?...buttloads of yarn?!?!?!
It's 11:30 now, and I haven't even started packing. I'll start right after I get off the computer, I promise :-). I've been gathering things to take, but I haven't actually put them in bags yet.
It's so weird. I have a bunch of things I want to do, but I want to be able to do them without compromising my babysitting duties. Oh! Did I mention?! I'll be helping babysit Roar and Meow, offspring of Hoochie Momma and The Professor.
I got an email from Hoochie Momma with the itinerary of the week to come. It sounds busy, but I'm ready for it. It's not like I haven't taken care of toddlers before, right? (I have many brilliant and stunning references...from Bubbles Momma.)
I'll make some audio posts on my trip tomorrow. It's been a while since anyone has heard my voice anyway.

packing is really weird. Especially when you can only take two bags with you to live with for then next one to three years

It will be cool to Laurafy the west coast for a bit. (Part of) the Washington state crew is really excited. I saw part cause I don't know how many people you know are out here :)

Some things you have to look forward to, in addition to the wonderful experience of spending 3 months with people you love: (1) No misquitos as in Michigan, (2) no humidity as in Michigan, (3) year-round greenery (no lifeless, leafless trees in the winter), (4) no temperature extremes like in Michigan (does not get really hot and does not get really cold), (5) you will be only 30 minutes away from a 11,238 ft mountain and within 90 minutes of the ocean. I could go on and on. (6) And Lucas can come and visit as often as he likes. To summarize, it's a pretty nice place to live. We are looking forward to your presence.
