Stink Pants got me Addicted to Crack...er Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates. Yar!

Stink Pants #5 has introduced me to Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates. It's been a real time suck, but it's fun! Here's my character:

It's a MMORPG - Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game. Much like Ultima Online, The Realm and dare I say, EverQuest. Here's a picture of my character on a populated island.

The difference between this game and other MMORPG's is you don't have to build skills and increase dexterity/strength/etc. Instead, you play puzzle games like Diamond Drop and these games accomplish things on your pirate ship like bilging and sailing. This is the bilging game.

Here's one of me on a ship, ready to pillage and plunder my way to booty heaven.

The real beauty about this game is that you don't need a subscription. There are two types of servers, ones that utilize subscriptions and ones that utilize Doubloons. Doubloons are like a pay-as-you go way of playing. In the subscription version, a character is free to get promoted in ranks and be the captain of his/her own ship (as long as you have enough Pieces of Eight (poe) to buy one). On the Doubloon servers, having ships and getting promoted require Doubloons which you can buy with real money or with poe. If you just like the games and are not affected by the glittery lure of booty, play on the Doubloon servers. If you want riches, houses, and a fleet of pillaging pirate ships, play on the subscription servers. They cost as high as ten bucks a month and as low as $75 a year (~$6.25 a month). I've gotten addicted to the games, my best skill is Carpentry.

If you like puzzle games, but don't need the community environment of a MMORPG, go to PopCap Games. If ye enjoy social interactions, booty, and talking like a pirate, try Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates, Scuppers! Yar!
