Chefs of Iron, made of Gold

Iron Chef is back on Food Network! It used to be on every night at 11:00 pm, and then they switched to Friday and Saturday at 11:00 pm (and 1:00 am on Saturday and Sunday), then the tv execs went one step further and only aired them every other week or so. Bastards. Now Iron Chef is back on every night at 11:00 pm! It's probably just because of that Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters crap, but if watching that was what it took to bring the original Japanese episodes back on air, then I guess I'm glad it happened. (That Battle of the Masters made me sad. No diehard Iron Chef fan wants to see their favorite chefs lose to Food Network's poster boy, Bobby Flay, or Mario Batali for that matter.) Man, if Fugi TV sold DVDs of the whole Iron Chef history, I'd buy all of them (hopefully for cheap on eBay or something).

I don't know how long this reprieve from the Iron Chef hiatus will last, but I'm gonna make the most of it. I'm taping them. This is usually one of the few shows my mom and I watch together sitting on my parents' bed. It's kind of like an hour-long slumber party with my mom, including laughing and sometimes toenail painting, but without the ice cream and lack of sleep. My mom was away last week for her china painting thing and now she is in Lansing for an occupational therapy thing, so I have to tape them so we can watch them when she gets back.
