Information Gravy: Mizaru. Kikazaru. Iwazaru.

I was just thinking about them the other day, and thought I'd learn a little more about them and share what I found with you guys.

The three names Mizaru, Kikazaru, and Iwazaru may be familiar to some of you, but almost everyone knows the three monkeys as See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil, aka: The Three Wise Monkeys.

The origin of these monkeys supposedly came from China, and were brought to Japan by a Buddhist monk of the Tendai sect. I couldn't find much about these guys on the Schminternet (maybe I'm looking in the right places) but they say that the Three Monkeys were at first associated with Vadjra, a three-eyed, many-handed, god with a blue face, but I can't find any pictures of "Vadjra" or any real sources on it.

They're also carved on the door of the Sacred Stable in Nikko, Japan.

Say you were in a situation where you were forced to have sex with one of these monkeys. Which one would you pick and why?

(That deaf and dumb and blind monkey sure played a mean pinball.)
