Waking up to a chainsaw

I woke up this morning to this strange buzzing noise. I opened my eyes and looked through the blinds to see a high school t-shirt and a noisy saw buzzing right outside my windows! My first thought: Mom is getting rid of our pompom bushes! Noooo!

Luckily, it was not true. The bushes are safe, they're just trimmed up a bit. They look less like pompoms and more like mushroom heads now.

You might ask why I care so much about the bushes in front of my house. First of all I only have one window in my room. If the bushes are gone, then any voyeuristic creepyman can look in my living area and see my horrid mess of dirty laundry. Second of all, the bushes give character to our house. I've never seen another house anywhere with pompom bushes such as ours. They kind of remind me of little organic chemistry molecule models, only big and well...organic. Third, there are birds nests in our pompoms. I can't count the number of summers Noona and I spent studying the birds less than a foot away from our windows. It was very convenient, because we could be really close to the birds without them flying away or attacking us.

So the bushes are safe, my window is still my television for bird reality tv shows. All is right with the world.
