Curt Cobain or Eighteen month-old baby?

You may remember this rasta-baby from a year ago in this post. (She's near the bottom.) Well, hasn't Meow grown in a year!

It's the end of my first week here, and already I feel like I'm part of the family. Roar and Meow like me (at least I think they do) and we play a lot.

The first two days, Meow and I spent the morning watching Teletubbies and Boobah. I do not understand either of those shows, but Meow loves them. I did notice that in both shows, the purple creature is always the biggest and the red/pink creature is always the smallest. What does that mean? I have no idea, but I'm sure some psychiatrist will make a ton of money analyzing this for hundreds of toddlers like Meow twenty-five years from now.

I think the hardest thing to get used to is the time change. I'm adjusting better to it now, but at first I would get hungry at 10:30am because that's 1:30 back home. Then I'd eat dinner at 4:00. Then I'd snack until it was time to go to bed. Even now, it's only 9:45 here, but it feels like it's almost 1:00. The fact that this family goes to bed early and I'm up by myself now doesn't help. If I were back home and it was 9:45, both of my parents would still be awake (granted, Dad would probably be making rounds at the hospital, but he'd still be awake.)

We live in in the foothills of Mt. Hood. I took a drive up the mountain yesterday to spend some time with Hoochie Momma and her friends at the Timberline Lodge there (boy is that a beautiful place) and it was frickin' cold! My fingers were freezing by the time I got there and there was snow all over the place.

Here's a picture.

It was actually much more grand and majestic than the picture makes it out to be, but even so, I think it looks pretty cool (no pun intended.)

I haven't had as much time to knit as I would like, but even Hoochie Momma said this week was much more busy than most normal weeks. I plan on making some trips to Portland and Seattle to see my college pals when I get more settled. If anyone wants to visit me (Noona, Stink Pants #5, ljbean13, MOM!) just let me know and there'll be a place for you! There's tons of stuff to do here, especially if you like outdoors kind of stuff.

So how are you enjoying my time zone?

You know... I think flights between CA and OR are really cheap. You should totally come visit L.A. for a couple days--wouldn't want to tear you away for too long since you are babysitting. But I'm sure they could spare you. ;)

My how that baby has grown! They get big really fast it seems. Kind of like pets, but not. :)

Yeah Laura said she had to be put in time out for a while because she drew on the wall and then threw a spastic fit when Laura took the crayon away.

Man, Meow was SO mad. After time out though, she was as happy as a clam in dirt.
