I went to L.A. this weekend to visit the love of my life, Stink Pants #5.
Here he is at his not-as-sexy-as-my-laptop-computer computer. Right now, the company he works for has him set up in this sweet studio apartment while he looks for a permanent apartment.
How sweet is it? See that gigantic mirror in the picture? The “sweet” part is that behind that gigantic mirror is a double bed. Yes, the bed folds up into the wall. How Hollywood is that? There’s a mirror under the fold-up bed.
I had a pretty good time there. One of the best parts is that I got to see Samantha Stark and her hubby Zappo! You know what's great about old friends? No matter how much time passes since the last time you saw each other and how many changes happen in our lives during that time, they're still the same people inside. Here we are sitting on a couple of hand chairs.
We spent the Saturday running around L.A. on various buses looking at stuff, buying things, and having a super great time. I bought new tennis shoes, some presents for my mom and Noona, a new Bad Badtz Maru laptop bag for my awesome sexy computer, and a shirt for $2.50! Sam lives near a fashion design college in L.A., and they sell students' creations and damaged goods from places like Forever 21 (a mall store for those who don't go mall shopping a lot) for cheap! Hurray!
We saw the fashion district and Little Tokyo! The fashion district (Santee Alley) is pretty cool. Little Tokyo is not as cool in terms of walking around and buying stuff, but still okay.
We also saw Stink Pants' father. We even took a picture of them together :-)
After our cavorting around the greater L.A. area, we went back to Sam and Zappo's apartment for some gaming and Romulan Ale (actually, Stink Pants was the only one who actually wanted to drink the Romulan Ale. It's blue).
It was a pretty awesome weekend. I've found that L.A. weather agrees with me wholeheartedly. It's warm, dry, and very sunny. Hurray! In about a year, like Sam and Zappo, I'll be calling L.A. my home too.
