Cleaning Out De House

Mom is gone this week doing a china painting thing in Pennsylvania. Usually, when this happens, Dad and I dirty up the house into a veritble typhoon of sloppiness. Here are two previous examples when Mom left us to fend for ourselves:
Mom Gone Vol. 1
Mom Gone Vol. 2.

Ahh the memories.

Well, it's happening again. The mess is not as bad this time, because Mom asked one of her friends to come over and help clean out Noona's and my bedrooms to prepare for the impending deluge of Filipino-ness that will fill our house to the point of supersaturation in August. No, mom's friend hasn't been vacuuming, clearing the table, doing the dishes or anything like that. She's just been boxing up a lot of our junk drawers and the random assortment of 90's clothes from our closets (yes andy, I did see a puff paint sweatshirt). When you know "company" is coming though, you take the time to straighten up and put stuff away, or in Dad's and my case you just try not to make as big as mess as you usually do.

Anyway, as we were looking through some drawers and I found treasure!

These are pictures of Noona and I that I found from a family trip to Philedelphia and the Liberty Bell. There are also pictures of Mom in a jean jacket and an 80's short hair cut and a couple pictures of our Aunt Luz! I showed the pictures to Dad and he said this was from 1989 or so, which makes us seven and eight years old. A few years older than the we were when this picture was taken.

In the second picture, you can see Noona's and my love for pink and blue. You may also see a bird between our heads. That's because at the time, our parents weren't good at keeping track which rolls of film they've used and which they haven't, and as a result we have a lot of double exposed pictures.

Man we are adorable!

Wow, I just realized our mom dressed us in sweatpants and sweatshirts a lot.

I think my favorite of mom's double exposed picture taking is of us in our bumble bee tap dance costumes. Yes, that's WAY BEFORE the Blind Melon "No Rain" song. We tapped to "Be My Little Baby Bumble Bee (buzz around buzz around buzzy buz around!)and she double exposed us over a picture of her roses. See if you can find it in our 90's crap!
