A Rose by Any Other Name... would be Frank on my blog.

You know, I thought I had done a post about this before, but I guess I haven't.

For those of you who don't know, I like to nickname people on my blog. For one thing, I know some people (me) are a little paranoid about having their real names on the Schminternet, so I like to protect their identities with pseudonyms. Two, it helps me distinguish from people who have the same name in real life, like Lenny and Master Milheim or Aegis and The Tea Monkey (I haven't actually talked about The Tea Monkey yet but I probably will in the near future.) Three, it's just plain fun.

There are a couple different ways a person gets a nickname on my blog.

The first way is by having an already established pen name or alter ego he or she likes to use on the Schminternet, like Samantha Stark, Ish, Aegis, Lenny, and a bunch of other people.

Also, if a person leaves a comment in the comments or on the tag-board with a name, then that's the one I'll use, like andy, clay, and B.

Another way is by having this nickname in real life, like Patlick, Noona, The Professor and Hoochie Momma.

If I want to talk about someone and they don't have a nickname in real life and they don't comment on the blog with a name of their own I just give them one, like Rigby, The Tea Monkey, C Masta J, anderella and the rest of the G-clan that's not The Professor or Hoochie Momma.

Lastly, there have been people who just pick their names, like my beloved Stink Pants #5 (read the story about it in the first paragraph here) and Wonka.

So "Sarah" if you want a nickname (that is not The Spanish Infanta) I'll just give you one. You shall now be known as...

The German Infanta (who is a little like the Spanish Infanta, but German, and with two eyebrows).

If you don't like it, I'm not opposed to changing it :-) After all, Noona's boyfriend was BusinessMan! before he was Wonka.
